Every once in a while something about real animals...wolves...

Love wolves. I think they are just beautiful and fascinating creatures. Here's a great picture of a pack that I found on the web the other day. I don't know who the photographer is but kudos to him/her for a such stunning shot!

Gar and Anvil see Roag riding by...

While out riding, Anvil and Gar see Roag riding by on his very cool V8-powered bike.

This line drawing is rough and heavily cropped and still needs to be cleaned up before I start coloring. The full pic has Anvil and Gar going by in the opposite direction.

Bikers are Animals 3 featured in Bike India Magazine...

The good news is that we were featured in Bike India magazine which is India's premier motorcycle magazine. The not so good news is that Bandit now thinks he's some sort of international star. You can be sure the other critters will help him deal with his big head.

A rough of...

A rough of Akorn and Hayz riding through the mountains and canyons near their home.

Here's the latest little critter...

Hayz ©

Meet Akorn's son Hayz. He's a pretty cool little guy who loves riding with his dad. He rides in a sidecar attached to his dad's sportbike because if he's rides as a passenger on the bike, he's got his dad's seriously bushy tail to contend with.

I'm working on..

 Prowlinda ©

Right now I'm working on Prowlinda who happens to be Prowla's (from BAA1) daughter.

Characters for BAA4 will come from both BAA1 and BAA2. Their little ones will be all new characters for this book. I want kids not only to see what bikers and motorcycling are about but also want younger characters that talk to kids and share about what their adult critters do for work and how they have fun with motorcycles. Hence the title Working and Riding (revised from Working and Playing.)

His dad, Trash, is the huge riding bear from book one sporting the purple Mohawk....They love riding together!

Belt Drive Betty Contest Character...

I just finished designing a riding beaver for Renee "Belt Drive Betty" Charbonneau of Belt Drive Betty Media. Renee is editor of  the Canadian Busted Knuckle Chronicles. She is having a contest to name this cool little mc cruisin' critter. The contest is Name Belt Drive Betty's Beaver Mascot. I had fun creating this character for Renee and will have a name for her when the winner is announced February 17th.

Renee is creating a plush version that will accompany her across Canada and the U.S. this year on Belt Drive Betty’s Annual Conga as a goodwill ambassador. Renee will be riding her brand new 2013 Johnny Pag Motorcycle  30,000 KMs (18641miles) and will cover 2 territories, 10 provinces and 13 states!

For more info on the contest click here

We hope...

Lin, myself and the critters wish all Happy New Year and hope the new year brings you and yours great things.

'toon anthology....

I had been drawing 'toons for the Motorcyclist's Post for the past 34 years and retired this past September. The paper just printed a 2-page review of some of them over the years in their January 2013 issue. Here's a look at the 2 pages. You can also check out larger pages on the online edition at this link...The Motorcyclist's Post on Issue.com. It's on pages 6 and 7. Pretty cool to see some of them laid out in a retrospect.

FTR, I left the Post to spend more time on the Bikers are Animals critters.

Finished but...

This is the finished pic of Sa-Rah and Ela but is tightly cropped because I'm just doing teasers right now. Don't want to give away too much. However, you can see there's a far cry difference from the initial rough.

This is where an illustration/cartoon starts for me. This is a long way from the finished piece.

Is there going to be a...

I've been asked if there is going to be a BAA 4...and the answer is...yes! It will be called Bikers are Animals 4 - Working and Playing (since revised to Working and Playing.)

It will feature characters from books 1 and 2 and I'll be introducing their young critters. I want to show kids what "bikers" do for work and how and where they ride and have fun with their youngsters. So I'll be introducing a slew of little ones.

This is a preview of one of the little ones. It's a very rough sketch. Let me introduce you to Sa-Rah's daughter Ela. I'll be introducing more of the new characters as the book progresses.

It's not just about motorcycles...

I love motorcycles and the Bikers are Animals crew but I also do some other things...like photography. These calendars are examples of my camera work outside the MC world...

I've taken a whole lot of pictures for the Motorcyclist's Post over the past 35 years. That's a lot of pics of chrome and steel. These calendars are 2 things...a departure from that chrome and steel and a tribute to the love of my life Lin. Check them out at ... Lin's Calendars at Zazzle.com
